Sci-Mx is a well known sports nutrition brand. Launched in 2007, they offer a range of protein and performance supplements.
Having played a largely passive role hitherto, Sci-Mx’s founder was looking to exit at the time he met Thoughtstream. The company had approached the market intermittently for two to three years trying to find a buyer, without success.
We worked with the management team to completely re-vamp their strategy and introduce a new marketing plan, focusing on specific market sectors and a clearly defined export policy. With this in place, we developed a structured campaign to approach strategically identified potential buyers.
Within three months, we negotiated a successful sale to Samworth Brothers, at a multiple significantly above the founder’s original expectations.
